Make a Difference in Fertility Care – Join the CRGH Team
At CRGH, we are passionate about delivering exceptional care and support to individuals and couples on their fertility journey. Our team is committed to providing a welcoming, compassionate and professional environment where patients feel supported at every stage of their treatment.

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and patient-focused Phlebotomist to join our busy clinical team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong phlebotomy experience who would enjoy working in a specialist fertility setting and contributing to a wider range of clinical and patient support activities.

About the Position
This is a varied, hands-on role combining phlebotomy, clinical assistance and patient-facing responsibilities. You will work closely with nurses, doctors and other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure patients receive safe, efficient and compassionate care.

Alongside carrying out blood collection, you will support clinical procedures, maintain high standards within patient areas and provide reassurance to patients throughout their treatment.

Your Main Responsibilities
Clinical and Patient Care
  • Carry out venepuncture in accordance with clinical requests, ensuring all samples are correctly identified, labelled and recorded.
  • Support doctors and nurses during clinical procedures, including embryo transfers and abdominal ultrasound scans.
  • Act as a chaperone when required, helping patients feel comfortable and reassured.
  • Assist with ultrasound documentation, data entry and recording of measurements.
  • Maintain strict infection prevention and control standards, including aseptic practice and the cleaning and decontamination of transvaginal ultrasound probes.
  • Ensure clinical rooms are clean, organised and appropriately prepared between appointments.
  • Follow procedures for the safe handling and disposal of clinical waste and sharps.
  • Provide compassionate, respectful and individualised patient care, always maintaining dignity and confidentiality.
  • Support patients with injection training and the completion of relevant consent documentation and clinical checklists.
  • Navigate IDEAS and ensure information is accurately updated.
  • Respond to patient queries, offering appropriate guidance and reassurance throughout their treatment.
  • Maintain up-to-date Basic Life Support knowledge and respond appropriately in emergency situations.

Operational and Administrative Responsibilities
  • Complete patient identity checks before appointments and procedures.
  • Welcome patients, introduce yourself and help create a positive experience from arrival through to departure.
  • Oversee stock levels, receive deliveries and ensure supplies are rotated and stored correctly.
  • Communicate stock requirements to the Team Leader or Deputy Manager.
  • Assist with pharmacy-related quality assurance activities and routine clinical area checks.
  • Ensure treatment rooms are fully equipped and ready for the day's appointments.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and develop a good working knowledge of the IDEAS system.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across different departments to support a seamless patient journey.
  • Liaise with pharmacy suppliers regarding prescription deliveries and associated administrative arrangements.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and provide clear, comprehensive handovers between shifts.

What We're Looking For
Essential Requirements
  • At least 12 months' practical experience in phlebotomy.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a caring and empathetic approach.
  • Confidence interacting with patients and colleagues in a professional healthcare environment.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Good IT and administrative skills, ideally including experience with electronic patient records or healthcare systems.
  • A proactive approach to teamwork and the ability to work independently when required.

Desirable Experience
  • Previous experience within fertility services, reproductive medicine or women's health.
  • Experience working in a private healthcare clinic or specialist clinical environment.
  • Familiarity with clinical procedures and multidisciplinary patient care.

Why Choose CRGH?
