Job summary
An opportunity has arisen within the Psychiatric Liaison Service as Clinical Lead leading the team of staff working inside Sunderland South Tyneside District Hospital.

The successful candidate will work across 7 days per week between the hours of 8-6. Monday to Friday, the service may require flexibility with working pattern to cover service need across both South Tyneside and Sunderland PLT.

The successful candidate will work closely with other agencies with the focus on supporting individuals with mental health needs to access appropriate support to promote recovery and maintain optimum health.

Candidates should be able to evidence/demonstrate leadership skills, values aligning to trust values, , leading clinical teams, completing audits, ELR, AAR embedding processes etc

Main duties of the job
Working within a complex population within the Psychiatric Liaison Service , this role would be ideal for someone with the following qualities, values and aspirations:

The candidate will have excellent skills in detailed risk assessment, risk management and safety planning.

The candidate will have extensive experience of multiagency working, leadership and quality service improvement.

The candidate will be able to manage a complex and demanding diary whilst providing clinical expertise, live supervision and support to the clinical team.

The candidate will demonstrate the ability to work as part of a collective team both with internal partners and external partners.

Knowledge and experience
Essential

• Knowledge & Experience of the Recovery Model.
• Proven track record of providing professional leadership within clinical services.
• MDT working.
• Clinical supervision and Application. Adherence to Health and Safety policies.
• Casework Management.
• Facilitation of Personal Development Planning in others.
• Experience of CBU based Model of Care Provision.
• Experience of working within a multi- disciplinary team using the CBU based approach.
• Care Packages and Pathways Clustering
• Experience of Positive Clinical Risk Taking and Risk/Safety Planning.
• WRAP and or Recovery Models. Evidence of Clinical Practice to an Advanced Practitioner level.

Desirable

• Knowledge of data systems.
• Experience of Positive Clinical Risk Taking and WRAP.

Skills and Competencies

Education and Qualification
Essential

• Registered Mental Health Nurse/ Registered Learning Disability Nurse (as appropriate) or equivalent relevant professional qualification

• Relevant Clinical Training and post graduate Qualification

Desirable

• Formal clinical supervision qualification.
• Therapy Qualification (i.e. CBT/PSI/Family Therapy).
• Teaching Qualification.
