Job summary
An opportunity has arisen within the Specialist Care Group to recruit a Clinical Manager for Mitford as part of the Autism Inpatient CBU soon to become the newly formed Learning Disability and Autism CBU.

Mitford Unit work currently works with adults on the autism spectrum who have significantly challenged services.The service is moving to a new clinical model in early Autumn to include care and treatment of adults with a Learning Disability and/or Autism.

The new Clinical Model for the service is based on a incorporating detailed pre-and post-admission assessment, evaluation and treatment of needs and detailed discharge planning.

The successful applicant will be supported fully by the management team in relation to their development requirements in this role and specific areas of their responsibility.

The base is in Northgate Hospital but there is an expectation that the post holder will be able travel across NTW sites if required.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide clinical and professional leadership to support theClinical Business Unit Pathway/Team/Ward managers and nursing teams inproviding the highest possible quality of care. They will maintain a high profile withinthe Clinical Business Unit. Working with the Group Nurse Director they will developand promote effective nursing practice and patient care policies including specificresponsibilities to designated CBU within the Trust. They will work with theAssociate Director ensuring that services and processes are co-ordinated to achieve,safe, high quality care. The post holder will be expected to promote a culture ofimprovement and excellence in delivering services for our patients and carers.

The leadership provided by the post holder is crucial to efficient, effective, and caringservices. Not only will the post holder be professionally accountable for standards ofnursing care, they will also influence the non-clinical contributions that are necessaryto deliver a high quality care service including cleanliness of the environment andother services that impact on patient care and welfare.

  • Professional qualifications such as: RMN, BSc, OT, Psychology, Social Worker.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience

Desirable
  • Recognised teaching qualification
  • Educated to masters level
  • Participation in international research initiatives. Evidence of published work.
  • Experience of the use of information systems to support service delivery.
  • Experience of research and audit at national, regional and local level.
