Job summaryAn exciting opportunity has arisen for highly motivated and enthusiastic Band 7 Primary Care Mental Health Practitioner (PCMHP) within the Children Neurodevelopmental pathway as part of the Lifespan Model to become an integral part of South Tyneside PCN.
We would welcome applicants who have outstanding skills, knowledge, and experience of working within this field. Applicants must have strong communication and organisational skills and will be proactive and dynamic with experience of working autonomously within a community setting, including managing risk management.
This is a very exciting, diverse, and autonomous role, and will be vital to have positive working relationships with other primary care agencies, secondary care and voluntary organisations, meeting the need for our population. Main duties of the jobThe main role for the post holder will be to provide professional advice, support, and improve, access to mental health care for children and young people, with mild to moderate or stable, severe mental ill health problems and/or difficulties associated with neurodivergence by delivering holistic assessment and evidence based care in the context of a multi-disciplinary, multi-agency, primary mental health service.
The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal communication skills and be committed to the delivery of excellent patient care. We are a dedicated service where both management and clinical supervision are provided, as well peer support and continuous professional development is promoted.

Person SpecificationEducation and QualificationEssential- Professional Qualification and current Professional Registration as, a First Level Registered Nurse (RNMH, RMN, RNLD) or equivalent as an AHP, Social Worker or Clinical Psychologist
- Degree or equivalent qualification or experience in evidence based psychological therapies relevant to Pathway.
- Post Graduate Degree or equivalent qualification or experience.
- ENB 998/P126/127
- Student Nurse Assessor or equivalent
Desirable- Safeguarding Children and Adults Training
Knowledge and ExperienceEssential- Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team
- Participate in Joint Development Reviews
- Commitment to Partnership working both multi-agency and multi-disciplinary.
- Coordinating and supporting staff in the day to day provision of clinical services.
- Knowledge and Understanding of equal opportunities legislation and policies.
- Experience of collaborative working across agencies and professional disciplines.
- Proven ability to manage a clinical caseload in a flexible manner as required.
- Experience of providing clinical supervision to clinical staff.
