Job summaryAn exciting opportunity has arisen for highly motivated and enthusiastic Band 6 Primary Care Mental Health Practitioner within the Adult Neurodevelopmental pathway to become an integral part of South Tyneside PCN.
This role consists of providing a holistic assessment and brief psychological interventions to those who are presenting with a range of mental health needs to their GP.
We would welcome applicants who have outstanding skills, knowledge, and experience of working within this field supporting the B7 practitioners. Applicants must have strong communication and organisational skills and will be proactive and dynamic with experience of working autonomously within a community setting, including managing risk management.

Main duties of the jobAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Primary Care Mental Health Practitioners (PCMHP) for the Adult Neurodevelopmental pathway as part of the Lifespan Model. within the South Tyneside locality. This role will provide the post holder the opportunity to apply and use their skills within primary care making sure that adults with ADHD receive an appropriate and timely assessment, while working with partner agencies to embed the community mental health transformation model.
This is a very exciting, diverse, and autonomous role, as such it will be vital to have positive working relationships with the primary and secondary care team, as well as third sector organisations.
The successful candidates will have excellent interpersonal communication skills and be committed to delivering excellent patient care. We are committed to providing both management and clinical supervision as well peer support and will support with continuous professional development.

Person SpecificationEducation and QualificationEssential- Professional Qualification and current Professional Registration as, a First Level Registered Nurse (RNMH, RMN, RNLD) or equivalent as an AHP, Social Worker or Clinical Psychologist
- Mentor Training.
- Proven track record of post registration clinical experience relevant to the post.
- Evidence of post-registration training in clinical/ psychological interventions / skills relevant to the post.
- Training in CPA (Care Programme Approach), Safeguarding, MAPPA (Multi Agency Panel for the Protection of Vulnerable Adults) and Child Protection.
- Up-to-date knowledge/experience of relevant legislation.
Desirable- Post registration qualification in psychological intervention
- Experience of working within a community team.
- Non-Medical Prescribing
Skills and CompetenciesEssential- Proven ability to carry out and provide comprehensive written assessments of individuals with complex mental health needs.
- Risk Assessment and Risk Management / Safety Planning skills.
- Demonstrate an understanding of effective & appropriate treatment options including a range of evidence based clinical approaches as identified in N.I.C.E. Guidance).
- Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Evidence of a high level of professional, organisational and leadership skills (self & others).
