Job summaryWe have an exciting opportunity to work as a Technical Team Lead to operationally manage the technical staffing across two specialist electronic assistive technology services - the Regional Communication Aid Service (RCAS) and the Regional Environmental Control Service (RECS). Both services are specialised services commissioned by NHS England, covering the North East and North Cumbria region.
RCAS provides specialised assessments and provision of communication aid equipment to adults and children who have complex communication needs. RCAS is based at Walkergate Park Hospital in Newcastle.

Main duties of the jobAs Technical Team Lead you will be responsible for the line management and governance of Clinical Scientists, Clinical Technologists, Rehabilitation Technicians and Equipment Officers across both services. You will provide expert guidance and oversight of the management and provision of specialist assistive technology and have good working knowledge of Medical Device Regulations. You will be responsible for the whole life cycle of the equipment provided and will ensure that appropriate local policies and procedures are in place and up to date.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the Therapy Team Lead and the Clinical Manager, to lead a skilled and diverse multi-disciplinary team in order to provide high quality, patient centred care.
You will also have the opportunity for client facing work, conducting specialist assessments for equipment provision, providing complex mounting of equipment and supporting the installation of equipment. Therefore you will need to be able to meet the transport requirements of a regional community based service.
