Job summary
Are you a newly qualified Occupational Therapist who would like to explore a rewarding career experience?

Cygnet Grange and Lodge are two, 8 bed Neuropsychiatric rehabilitation, care and treatment facility for those affected by acquired brain injuries. The service provides a safe and secure place to aid recovery as well as offering those diagnosed with a progressive neurological disease, like Huntingtons Disease, a caring and long term placement to support and help manage the progression of their symptoms.

Main duties of the job
Post: Occupational Therapist (Band 5)
Base: Cygnet Grange and Lodge, Mason Street, Sutton in Ashfield, Nottinghamshire, NG17 4HQ
Salary: up to £35,465 per year (DOE)
Caseload: Up to 16 patients
Responsible to: Service Manager for Line management supervision & Occupational Therapist (Band 6 or above) for professional supervision
Hours: 40 hours per week (5 days)

About us
Cygnet Grange and Lodge are registered as a hospital and is designed specifically to provide a clinically led evidence based neuropsychiatric pathway for those individuals presenting with behaviours that challenge. Our focus is to create a therapeutic rich environment which engages our service users and offers them the opportunity to minimise their challenging behaviour and maximise their independence.

We provide a resource intensive dedicated in-house Neuropsychiatry inter-disciplinary team. Our person-centred approach puts the individual at the centre of their treatment and discharge planning. The service offers a wide range of activities and facilities to promote independent function. Positive behaviour goals are focussed on discharge planning to support service users to return to community living either with support or independently.

Job responsibilities
Occupational Therapy Directorate
Under the leadership of our occupational therapy directors we support over 150 Occupational Therapists. Working together as a large team we provide support to each other across the group, with the opportunity to be part of specialist interest groups & become involved in service development.

Every service line has a clinical lead occupational therapist to lead and develop evidence based practice and agreed occupational therapy pathway.

We ensure our occupational therapists have a voice through participating in service model development, utilising the expertise and support of our clinical lead occupational therapists.

Occupational Therapy Preceptorship & Induction:
We offer a 12 month Occupational Therapy Preceptorship for all newly qualified Occupational Therapists to support and consolidate core Occupational Therapy skills.

We also offer a sensory integration preceptorship for those with an interest in sensory integration.

All new starters will complete an induction which incorporates service line Occupational Therapy processes as inhouse orientation.
