Dean Cross Surgery is seeking an enthusiastic Salaried GP to join our dedicated team for 4 sessions per week. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a well-established practice committed to delivering high-quality care to our local community while supporting the wellbeing and development of our staff.

Main duties of the job

• Anima total triage system supporting efficient workload management.
• GP clinical administration sessions shared on a rotational basis across the team.
• Personal patient lists, enabling continuity of care and strong doctor-patient relationships.
• Well-structured clinical sessions with protected administration time:
• Morning: 8 telephone consultations, 5 face-to-face appointments, clinical huddle and admin time.
• Afternoon: 7 face-to-face appointments, 5 telephone consultations and admin time.
• Six weeks annual leave plus one week study leave per year.
• TPP SystmOne clinical system.
• Accredited teaching practice with opportunities to support and develop future healthcare professionals.
• Home visits undertaken by our experienced Visiting ANP Team.
• Regular dedicated admin sessions allocated according to sessions worked.
• Monthly clinical meetings and protected training sessions.
• Weekly GP Huddles.
• Supportive and collaborative practice culture with a strong focus on clinician wellbeing.

Job responsibilities
Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical services to registered patients, including diagnosis, treatment, health promotion, and preventative care.
• Conduct face-to-face, telephone, and video consultations as appropriate.
• Manage acute and chronic medical conditions in line with current evidence-based guidelines.
• Prescribe medication safely and appropriately within national and local guidance.
• Refer patients to secondary care and other healthcare professionals when required.
• Review and action pathology results, hospital correspondence, and clinical documents.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and contemporaneous patient records.

Quality and Safety

• Promote high standards of clinical care and patient safety.
• Work within GMC Good Medical Practice standards.
• Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement initiatives, and significant event reviews.
• Support safeguarding responsibilities for children and vulnerable adults.
• Comply with infection prevention and control, health and safety, and information governance requirements.
• Report clinical incidents and participate in learning activities.

Team Working

• Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team, including GPs, Nurses, HCAs, AHPS, ARRS roles and Administrative Staff.
• Provide clinical advice and support to colleagues as appropriate.
• Contribute to practice meetings and service development activities.
• Foster positive working relationships across the practice and wider Primary Care Network.

Professional Development

• Maintain professional registration and compliance with appraisal and revalidation requirements.
• Engage in continuing professional development (CPD).
• Keep up to date with national and local guidelines affecting primary care.
• Participate in mandatory and statutory training.

Administrative Responsibilities

• Complete clinical correspondence, referrals, reports, and other documentation within an appropriate timeframe.
• Support achievement of Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) and other contractual requirements.
• Contribute to effective use of practice systems and processes.
• Assist in maintaining accurate clinical coding and documentation.

Essential

• Eligible for full registration with, and hold a current licence to practice from the GMC and inclusion on the Performers List on start date.
