Guide young people to the right mental health support, when it matters most.

Location: Anstey Frith House, Leicester Road, Glenfield, LE3 8RN
Working Pattern: Bank Contract, 12-month Fixed-Term Contract
Salary: DHU Band 8a, £55,276 - £62,421 per annum (pro rata)

At DHU Healthcare, every role matters. We’re a team driven by compassion, respect, and encouragement, where contributions are valued and every voice is heard. Together, we make an impact and help shape the future for our patients, colleagues, and communities.

Skilled teams, exceptional care.
With us, every moment matters. Our UEC teams deliver expert care 24/7, working together to respond quickly when it’s needed most.

As a Children & Young Persons Mental Health Practitioner you will:
  • Be a Registered Mental Health Nurse (NMC) with experience in autonomous practice and working with children and young people.
  • Work as part of a skilled, supportive team where every role matters in helping children and young people access the right care.
  • Screen, assess and triage referrals, using your clinical expertise to identify needs, risks and safeguarding concerns.
  • Deliver compassionate, person-centred care, supporting children, young people, families and carers when they need it most.
  • Use your specialist knowledge to make confident clinical decisions and connect people with the most appropriate support.
  • Build strong relationships with partner services to improve patient experience and help achieve positive outcomes.

For you, because great work starts with a supported team.
We offer a benefits package with your health, happiness and future in mind. You’ll have access to the NHS pension scheme (and we’ll honour your existing NHS pension pot and holiday entitlement if you’re transferring), free secure parking at most sites, birthday leave, and our Health Cash Plan for you and your family – covering dental, optical, therapy costs, and 24/7 GP access after six months. Plus, there’s wellbeing perks, flexible working, a salary sacrifice Car Lease Scheme with low-emission options, enhanced maternity and paternity leave, and a rewarding referral programme. It’s our way of saying thank you. For more information on the full range of benefits available click here.

Developing people, strengthening teams.
With us, your development matters. Whether you’re starting out or ready for your next challenge, we offer clear career pathways and opportunities to grow with confidence at every stage of your journey. Together, reflecting our communities.
We believe that when everyone feels valued, respected and supported, they can do their best work. We’re proud to reflect the rich diversity of the communities we serve, welcoming colleagues from all backgrounds.
