Job summary
At DHU Healthcare, every role matters. We're a not-for-profit team driven by compassion and respect, where your voice is heard and your growth truly matters. Join us and be part of something bigger. For you, for them, with us.

Shaping the future of care.

At DHU Healthcare, our Urgent and Emergency Care teams work on the frontline of the NHS, delivering expert, compassionate care 24/7, 365 days a year. From Emergency Departments and Urgent Treatment Centres to GP surgeries and communities across the East Midlands and beyond, we're there when people need us most.

Our teams of skilled medical, nursing, allied health, and support professionals all work together to respond quickly and effectively to every patient. We deliver a wide range of services including community nursing, urgent treatment, primary care streaming, urgent on-day primary care, GP home visiting, phlebotomy, community hospital medical cover, telephone consultation support, and palliative care home visiting. With us, you'll be supported to succeed - in your role, your development, and your career.

Main duties of the job
Every patient journey relies on skilled clinicians delivering safe, high quality care. Your expertise helps us meet urgent needs and improve outcomes.

As a Salaried GP you will:
  • Assess, diagnose and manage patients presenting with urgent undifferentiated illness and minor injury presentations in line with UTC scope, competence and local pathways.
  • Undertake clinical history taking, physical examination and clinical decision making using evidence based practice.
  • Request, interpret and act on appropriate investigations available within the UTC setting, including point of care tests, ECGs and imaging where available and authorised.
  • Maintain full GMC registration, licence to practise and inclusion on the Performers List.
  • Maintain appraisal, revalidation, mandatory training and professional development requirements.

About us
We offer a benefits package with your health, happiness and future in mind. You'll have access to the NHS pension scheme (and we'll honour your existing NHS pension pot and holiday entitlement if transferring), free parking at most sites, birthday leave, and our Health Cash Plan for you and your family covering dental, optical, therapy costs, and 24/7 GP access after six months.

Plus, wellbeing perks, flexible working, a salary sacrifice Car Lease Scheme with low-emission options, enhanced maternity and paternity leave, and a rewarding referral programme. It's our way of saying thank you.

Learning, leading, shaping healthcare

At DHU Healthcare, we support your growth at every stage of your career. With career paths, tailored training, and the DHU Academy, you'll have the tools and encouragement to explore skills and opportunities, take the next step, and make an impact. From leadership programmes and apprenticeships to essential role-specific training, development is part of how we work and shape healthcare together.

A culture where differences matter.

We believe that when everyone feels valued respected and supported, they can do their best work. We're proud to reflect the rich diversity of the communities we serve, welcoming colleagues from all backgrounds. We are committed to supporting the Armed Forces community and, as a Disability Confident Employer, we welcome candidates to share any support or reasonable adjustments they may need during the recruitment process.
