Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join a developing new service aimed at improving the well-being and psychological functioning of young people at Oakhill STC. The service provides weekly individual and group therapy sessions to young people aged 12 to 18 years of age with an offending history. You will utilise a variety of psychological interventions for both the young person and family members including the SECURE STAIRS framework.

This is an opportunity to provide specialised Occupational Therapy (OT) interventions within the SECURE STAIRS framework - a joint partnership service between Health and the secure estate for the young people. SECURE STAIRS work within a psychological, trauma-informed framework to aid the transitioning of young people to prison/secure hospitals from community settings, with the MDT providing a holistic approach to recovery.

Main duties of the job
The role involves managing a caseload of service users with complex needs, using evidence based/service user centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.

As part of the role as a lead clinician, you will be responsible for assessment and completion of comprehensive formulation of risk and treatment needs. Within the service, you will work alongside the MDT in the development and delivery of multi-modal group and 1:1 therapeutic intervention as well as provide specialist assessments to those being transferred to the secure training facility as required. You will also provide support, supervision and leadership within the MDT. You will also hold a caseload of patients with varying difficulties including complete health and social care needs responding effectively to the changing needs of the patient caseload.
