Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual who is interested in a career as a Diagnostic Radiographer to train via an Apprenticeship.

Main duties of the job
We are looking for a highly motivated person to join our team at Dorset County Hospital as an Apprentice Radiographer. This is a recently established role which will involve you working alongside a multidisciplinary team whilst you train to become a Radiographer.
The successful candidate will be enrolled on the University of Exeter Apprenticeship Radiographer Degree Programme, due to commence in March 2027. This is an exciting training opportunity to become a full HCPC registered Diagnostic Radiographer (subject to course completion and HCPC registration).
Candidates must have the prerequisite qualifications as documented in the personal specification and by the University of Exeter.

About us
We pride ourselves on a supportive environment for all staff. We are constantly striving to improve the service we offer our patients, and the department holds BS 70,000 accreditation for quality.
Our busy hospital provides a full range of district general services and links with satellite units. We are a trauma unit and part of the Wessex Trauma network. DCH is the provider of renal services to the region.

We understand that AI can be a useful tool when completing your application. However, we are seeing an increasing over-reliance of AI tools, which can affect your application as it reduces a candidate's individuality, and makes it difficult for us to gain a clear understanding of your experience, skills, and your suitability for the role.
All submissions must be truthful and if you do use AI, it should only be used to enhance your application and not create your supporting statement in its entirety. Your supporting statement should be in your own words and accurately reflect your personal experience and achievements. Where we have concerns that AI has been used to generate content that misrepresents your experience and suitability for the role, we may withdraw your application.

Right to work in the UK: This role is not available for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship. Applicants must already have the legal right to work in the UK at the time of application. Unfortunately, we are unable to support visa applications for this post in line with UKVI regulations.

Job responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to complete work-based, online and self-directed learning as outlined in the university prospectus. Attendance at Exeter University will also be part of the training. Apprenticeship radiographers will be supported in department by our workplace mentors and the whole radiography team.
