We are recruiting for a Haemato-Oncology Nurse Specialist who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

The Haematology Clinical Nurse Specialist is a highly skilled nursing professional who is responsible for providing specialised care and support to patients with haematological malignancies.

This role involves collaboration with multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care, patient education, and developing advanced clinical expertise to assess, diagnose, and implement evidence-based interventions tailored to individual patient's needs.

You will work alongside the other haematology nurses, developing new and appropriate skills to provide excellent care to an ever-increasing case load. There will be many opportunities in this role to develop new skills, including undertaking bone marrow biopsies and running nurse-led clinics.

At the heart of everything we do are our core values: Include, Respect, and Improve. We encourage you to embrace these values throughout the recruitment process and in your role with us.

Main duties of the job
As a Haematology-Oncology Nurse Specialist, you will engage in a variety of critical tasks focused on patient care and clinical support.

The post holder will be working with patients who have haematological cancers. The successful candidate will be supported to develop competence and skill in undertaking bone marrow biopsies, blood monitoring, contributing to multi-disciplinary team meetings, participating in outpatient clinics and triaging and responding to helpline calls.

Within your role, you will support in providing expert advice related to specific conditions or treatment pathways whilst focusing on improving patient care and service development. You'll assess patients holistically, plan, implement and evaluate evidence based care.

You will provide specialist advice to patient families and carers and the wider multidisciplinary team and carry out specialist nursing procedures in relation to haematology patients.

You will also act in accordance with Nursing and Midwifery Code of Conduct. Provide a specialist nursing service for patients with haematological conditions who require support and treatment through continuum of care.

The successful candidate will have the ability to manage caseload of patients, delivering a high quality service which is linked to a high standard of patient care.
