Job summaryAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a clinically trained and experienced pharmacist to join the Pharmacy team at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust.
The post-holder will work within the clinical pharmacy service, including the Integrated Medicines Optimisation Team (IMOT), utilising a non-medical prescribing qualification to ensure patient's are continued to be prescribed their specialist medicines when they are discharged from hospital.
The role will involve close working with members of the multidisciplinary team members, such as consultants, specialist nurses, outpatient pharmacy staff members, in addition to close liaison with patients or parents/guardians regarding their ongoing medication supplies.
Main duties of the jobMain duties are summarised below.
- Provide high quality pharmaceutical care to patients within the Integrated Medicines Optimisation Team (IMOT)
- Act as a role model in the field of clinical pharmacy and provide a consistently high level of pharmaceutical service
- Support the development of agreed policies and procedures for safe medicines use within IMOT
- Work closely with other staff across other departments to ensure the delivery of an integrated pharmacy service

QualificationsEssential- MPharm degree or equivalent
- Registered as a Pharmacist (member of GPhC)
- Post-graduate Diploma (PgDip) or equivalent
Desirable- Non-medical Prescribing Qualification
KnowledgeEssential- Broad range of understanding of clinical practice & knowledge of medicial conditions (practical experience)
ExperienceEssential- Advanced clinical pharmacy experience and practice (ELHT specific)
- Ability to deal with complex clinical issues
- MDT working
JudgementEssential- Able to identify, prioritise and evaluate work
Other requirementsEssential- Flexibility in working hours
