Description
Job summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic, innovative and motivated Band 8a Clinical, Counselling or Forensic Psychologist to join our large and dynamic psychology department within the Forensic Directorate. Our services span medium- and low-secure inpatient care and forensic community provision across East London.
Based at Wolfson House, you will be an integral member of a ward multidisciplinary team within our low-secure service, while working closely with the forensic community team. Bridging inpatient and community services will be central to your role, supporting continuity of care and service users' transitions into the community.
You will lead the development and implementation of an attachment-focused model of care, with a particular emphasis on supporting longer-stay service users to move towards discharge. You will also apply this approach to develop a more nuanced, psychologically informed understanding of risk. Relevant training will be available to support you in this work.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for the psychological care of all (male) service users on one ward, as well as feeding into unit and directorate-wide activities.
We are looking for someone who has experience of working in a relevant setting, and would be able to take on some organisational and line management responsibilities alongside their clinical role. As a senior member of staff, the post holder will also be supported to contribute to wider service development opportunities.
About us
Our mission is to make a positive difference to people's lives by improving the quality of life for all we serve. Our values are: We Care, We Respect, We are Inclusive - so we are looking for people who live and breathe these qualities when supporting service users and carers, and in their relationships with colleagues in the Trust and our partner organisations.
