Job summarySenior Wellbeing Practitioner Band 6 - EMHP, CWPWe are seeking to recruit an experienced senior wellbeing practitioners to join the Tower Hamlets Education Wellbeing Service (THEWS).
THEWS is a Mental Health Support Team (MHST) established following the government Green Paper: Transforming Children & Young People's Mental Health Provision. The service has undergone recent expansion.
The three core functions of a Mental Health Support Team (MHST) are:
- Delivering evidence-based interventions for children and young people (CYP) with mild-to-moderate mental health problems.
- Supporting the senior mental health lead in each education setting to introduce, develop and deliver the whole school/college approach.
- Giving timely advice to school and college staff, and liaising with external specialist services, to help CYP to get the right support and stay in education.
Main duties of the jobThe role involves delivering all three MHST functions. The role involves providing clinical supervision to practitioners within the team, holding a small caseload of clinical work (based on the postholder's training and interests), acting as a senior link supporting school leads to develop their whole school approach to wellbeing, project work, other tasks as/when required.

THEWS is part of the Tower Hamlets Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) based in Whitechapel, East London.
In line with Trust policy, the service has adopted a hybrid clinical working model of direct face to face and remote working as appropriate.
The service embraces continual improvement and well-being of the staff and has a high degree of enthusiasm for quality improvement and working together with partner agencies to provide the highest quality service to the population we serve.

Person SpecificationEducation/ Qualification/TrainingEssential- Completed either the PG Cert Supervision: Children and Young People's Mental Health and Wellbeing or the PG Dip: Senior Wellbeing Practitioner course. Please note, all candidates without either of these qualifications will be rejected.
- Registration with BABCP and/or BPS applied for
ExperienceEssential- Substantial experience of working with evidence-based approaches for mild to moderate mental health problems in children and young people
- Experience of supervising low intensity practice with CYP and families
- Experience of routine outcome monitoring
- Experience working with schools
- Experience working as part of an MHST
- Experience of service development
- Experience of consultation
- Experience of teaching/training other professionals
Knowledge and SkillsEssential- Knowledge of current guidelines and recent developments in evidence-based assessments and interventions for children and young people with mild to moderate mental health problems
- Knowledge of legislation and its implications for both clinical practice and professional management and mental health in relation to children, young people and their families
- Knowledge, understanding and experience with diverse racial, ethnic and cultural backgrounds and families with a high level of deprivation
- Knowledge of current guidelines in terms of the implementation of the whole-school approach in education
