Job summaryWorking collaboratively with senior managers, clinical leaders, corporate functions, and external stakeholders, the post holder will drive forward a proactive, learning orientated approach to risk management across the Trust. They will champion modern, evidence-based methodologies, develop robust systems and tools, and lead horizon scanning activity to ensure the Trust is responsive to emerging risks, regulatory changes, and sector best practice. The Head of Risk Management will lead the development and delivery of Trust wide risk education, enabling consistent understanding and capability at all levels.
Main duties of the jobA fundamental aspect of this role is to build and embed a positive risk culture throughout the organisation. The post holder will work to ensure that accountability for risk is clearly owned by operational leaders and embedded within directorate governance frameworks, shifting perceptions of risk management from a departmental process to a collective organisational responsibility. This will require exceptional communication, influence, and leadership to secure.
