An opportunity has arisen for you to contribute to our team in providing high quality and respected clinical pharmacy services as the Pharmacy Outpatient Dispensary Manager.
You will be based at Colchester Hospital, spending a significant proportion of time working within our dispensaries, supporting the clinical pharmacy service and the wider Pharmacy Medicines Optimisation agenda.
Being a key member of the multidisciplinary team you will be expected to fully integrate within the wider hospital clinical environment providing a patient centred approach to medicines management and governance.

Main duties of the jobResponsible for assisting the department in providing a comprehensive and efficient pharmacy service to patients within East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust (ESNEFT).
Management of the Pharmacy Outpatient Dispensary at Colchester site and act as lead for the department, liaising closely with the Chief Pharmacy Technician and the Inpatient Dispensary Manager.
Supervision of all grades of staff working in these dispensaries and will provide a robust pharmacy service to Trust Outpatients and virtual clinics held across Colchester Hospital.
In the absence of the Inpatient Dispensary Manager, the post holder will assume responsibility in all aspects of the day to day organization of all three dispensaries within Colchester Hospital.
Work at dispensary level; although it is an expectation that you will also support other clinical colleagues within the department as the holistic service requires

Person SpecificationExperienceEssential- Significant post qualification experience as a hospital or community pharmacy technician (band 5)
- Experience of supervising other staff
- Experience of managing service delivery
Desirable- Project Management Skills
- Experience of Stock Control
- POD/SAM experience
QualificationsEssential- GPhC Registered
- BTEC or NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent
- Regional Dispensary Accredited Checking Technician
Desirable- NVQ qualification in supervisory management or equivalent
- Patient consultation accreditation
- Certificate in Medicines Management for Pharmacy Technicians (CMMPT)
- Medicine reconciliation course
- Clinical Supervisor
- Pods & Transcriptions (MM) or equivalent
KnowledgeEssential- Computer Literacy of standard databases
- Understanding of pharmacy organisational/structure (local/national)
- Good Pharmaceutical knowledge
- Knowledge of Pharmacy IT systems
