Job Summary
Freedom from Torture (FFT) is a leading UK human rights organisation dedicated to supporting survivors of torture and promoting their rights. FFT provides specialist therapeutic services, medico-legal documentation, legal and welfare support, and advocacy to help survivors recover from the physical and psychological effects of torture and rebuild their lives.

A key strength of the organisation is its survivor-centred approach, ensuring that survivors' experiences and voices shape its services, research, and advocacy. Freedom from Torture combines clinical expertise with a strong commitment to dignity, justice, empowerment, and social inclusion. Its medico-legal reporting service plays a vital role in documenting evidence of torture to support asylum and human rights claims.

Lead Doctor Role
The Lead Doctor role is integral to maintaining the quality and effectiveness of this service. Responsibilities include:
  • Overseeing medico-legal reporting
  • Providing quality assurance
  • Supporting and training doctors
  • Promoting professional development

The Lead Doctor helps ensure survivors receive high-quality assessments and documentation while contributing to the organisation's mission of protecting survivors and advancing human rights.
