Job Summary
We are delighted to offer an exciting new opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced leader to join our Blood Sciences and Pathology Network as a Network Training and Development Manager - Histopathology.

This pivotal leadership role comes at a significant point in the evolution of our service.

Over the past two years, the network has undergone a major transformation, achieving substantial improvements in performance.

Our original authorisation rate against the 10-day target has increased from 23% to 73%, demonstrating the success of our improvement journey.

We are now seeking an exceptional individual to help sustain and accelerate this positive trajectory through the implementation of a refreshed approach and new operating model.

Working closely with both the operational leadership team and the transformation programme team, the post holder will play a key role in shaping the future direction of the service and embedding long-term improvements across the network.

Main duties of the job
We are incredibly proud of our Digital Histopathology programme, which has transformed the way we work by creating a digitally enabled service that supports modern pathology practice.

This investment has strengthened consultant networking and reporting capabilities, improved turnaround times, and enhanced collaboration across the service.

In addition, NHS England funding has supported the introduction of automation and modern histopathology equipment, providing ready-to-use technology that supports robust verification and validation processes.

These developments are fundamental to maintaining the highest standards of quality, governance, and workforce development.
