Job summary
We are excited to offer an opportunity to join our Multidisciplinary Chronic Pain Service for a Band 6 Physiotherapist.

This role is ideal for a physiotherapist with experience in musculoskeletal or long-term conditions, looking to develop specialist skills in chronic pain management using a biopsychosocial approach.

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, supporting patients to improve their function and quality of life through rehabilitation, education and self-management strategies.

1 x full time role available.

Main duties of the job
  • Provide physiotherapy assessment and treatment for patients with chronic pain
  • Support patients to develop self-management skills and improve functional outcomes
  • Develop psychological skills (e.g. motivational interviewing, CBT, ACT) to facilitate patient care
  • Assist in delivering pain education and structured group programmes
  • Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team (physiotherapists, psychologists, nurses, consultants)
  • Participate in audit, service development and quality improvement projects

Person Specification

Qualifications
Essential
  • HCPC registration
  • Degree or Diploma in Physiotherapy.

Desirable
  • Member of Chronic Pain interest group
  • Clinical educator training
  • Evidence of management training

Experience
Essential
  • Completion of band 5 rotations
  • Training/supervision to staff/students
  • MDT working

Desirable
  • Experience of research/audit
  • Experience of service development or project

Skills and knowledge
Essential
  • Interpersonal skills including clear, concise and effective verbal and written reports.
  • Supervisory and appraisal skills
  • Able to think logically and problem solve.
  • Teaching skills
  • Reflective practice

Desirable
  • Basic management skills
  • Work individually and in groups
