Job summaryThis is an exciting opportunity for a General Practitioner to work over 5 sessions at Queens Medical Centre.
Queens Medical Centre is a growing Practice of around 11,500 patients with substantial housing development in the area. As well as a branch site in Lynton. You will be part of a growing team of GPs, ANPS, Practice Nursing, and be fully supported by an on-the-ground Service Manager.
Our sessional rate is based on full time hours over 4 days meaning each session is around 4 hours and 40 minutes.
Job summaryEach session includes the following:
- 14 face to face appointments and completion of related clinical administration
- Fair share of visits when required (We do have a PCN acute Paramedic Visiting Team)
- Fair share of bloods, tasks and medical reports (part-completed by non-clinical staff)
- Assisting completion of the urgent clinical task group and routine clinical task group
- General support to the wider clinical team.
- Other reasonable duties as required
Main duties of the job- Provide high quality patient care
- Provide face to face and telephone consultations as required
- Effectively utilise in house and external services when needed
- Complete all clinical administration work related to patients seen
- Work collaboratively and contribute to the management and completion of general clinical administration, including bloods, tasks, urgent enquiries, medical reports, for example
- Attend and contribute to clinical practice meetings as required
- Ensure that each patient encounter is maximised to attain contractual target requirements

The organisation provides care to 128,000 patients using a diversified clinical team consisting of on-the-ground paramedics, ANPs, ACPs, Clinical Pharmacists, and a nursing team, with clinical supervision and mentorship by GPs.
The organisation is patient-driven and has used patient feedback in the past to develop innovative services such as a bespoke smart phone app, patient-centred practice websites, joint working with the third sector and a bespoke e-consultation service. The econsultation service is accessible through both the smart phone app and website and has provided over 100,000 e-consultations in the last 2 years. The organisation currently receives around 200-400 econsults per day across all sites.
Job responsibilities- Utilisation of SystmOne clinical system
- Consult with patient face to face and by telephone as required
- Undertake home visits when required
- Prescribe, refer, treat and advise patients as required
- Respond to clinical queries from the wider team
- Contribute to completion of the clinical task group
- Fair share of clinical administration, including tasks, bloods, and other general duties,
- Complete medical reports as and when required (shared out across the team)
- Provide support to the wider clinical team including being available to our highly experienced ANPs when required
- Other duties as may be reasonably required from time to time

QualificationsEssential- Medical degree
- Full registration with GMC
Desirable- GP registrar training
- Completion of GP vocational Training
ExperienceEssential- Experience of using Systmone clinical system.
Desirable- Experience or interest in training other trainee GPs and trainee practitioners.
