Main duties of the jobAll patient contacts are triaged by experienced clinicians using AccuRx to ensure patients are directed to the most appropriate specialist. You will manage the workload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered patients. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team and be involved in practice meetings, learning development and take an interest in the future development of the practice.

We have recently undergone very positive changes, including implementing BMA Safe Working Guidance and investing significantly in our team. We aim to continue progressing as an innovative and supportive practice. On site parking available, BMA model 15 minute appointments, low administrative workload due to effective systems (including Abtrace support, Full-time pharmacist and pharmacy team support and referrals team). Dedicated paramedic/CMT home visiting service, EMIS clinical system. This role is for 32 hours per week and is offered on an initial 12-month contract with the option to extend. The post is practice based at Giggs Hill Surgery, the local site name for the Emberbrook Centre in Thames Ditton. The site operates as an integrated part of Glenlyn Medical Centre, benefitting from shared leadership, governance arrangements, clinical systems, and a unified team culture. About the PracticeGlenlyn Medical Centre is a well-established NHS GP practice serving the communities of East Molesey and Thames Ditton. The practice operates across two sites, offering continuity of care and a strong sense of team identity. The RoleThe successful candidate will deliver the full range of general practice services, providing high-quality primary medical care through a balanced mix of face-to-face and telephone consultations within a practice-based model. The role includes participation in the Duty GP rota for one day per week, delivered within a structured and supportive framework.
Key Responsibilities- Providing comprehensive general medical care including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up
- Managing acute presentations, same-day demand, and undifferentiated illness
- Delivering ongoing care for patients with long-term conditions and complex health needs
- Undertaking Duty GP responsibilities one day per week with appropriate support
- Reviewing and actioning investigations, correspondence, and clinical tasks
- Prescribing safely and effectively in line with national and local guidance
- Contributing to safeguarding, quality improvement, and multidisciplinary teamwork
- Maintaining accurate, timely, and high-quality clinical records

Person SpecificationQualificationsEssential- GMC registration with a licence to practice;
- Inclusion on the NHS GP Performers List;
Desirable- Specialist knowledge acquired through post-graduate diploma level or equivalent training/experience.
ExperienceEssential- Confidence using digital clinical systems;
- In depth therapeutic and clinical knowledge and understanding of the principles of evidence based healthcare;
- Excellent interpersonal, influencing and negotiating skills;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Able to plan, manage, monitor, advise and review general medicine optimisation issues in core areas for long term conditions;
- Able to obtain and analyse complex technical information;
- Commitment to high-quality, patient-centred care;
- Recognise priorities when problem solving and indentify deviations from the normal pattern and when referrals to specialists necessary;
- Able to work independently and effectively within a multidisciplinary team;
- Willingness to participate in Duty GP responsibilities;
