Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 4 Nursing Associate to join our Community Mental Health Team based at Avon House Tewksbury. You will play a key role in supporting patients with severe mental illness through, delivering high quality person centred care within a supportive, established and passionate team.

You will work independently under the guidance of Registered Nurses, contributing to holistic mental and physical health assessment, treatment and monitoring. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast paced clinical environment, enjoys collaborative team working, and is passionate about improving the lives of adults with complex mental health needs.

Main duties of the job
Working as a Nursing Associate you will need to be passionate and enthusiastic about patient care putting patients at the heart of everything you do.

You will be working in a multi-professional team and will need to be able to think on the spot and be empathetic whilst developing the art of the quality conversation to ensure effective conversation with our patients.

For this role you will need to be able to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with other staff and patients.

The successful post holder must be able to able to work alone and unsupervised.

The post holder will be required to have access to a car to complete patient visits in the community and clinical settings.

You must be passionate about our business, creating a culture of continuous improvement, where patient welfare is at the heart of all you do.

Job responsibilities
We provide a Multi-professionalpreceptorship programme that is aligned to the National Preceptorship Framework for Nursing and have been awarded the Interim quality mark from NHS England. Our programme is provided to all Newly Qualified; Nurses, Nursing Associates, Internationally Educated Practitioners, Allied Health Professionals and Return to Practice Practitioners. In addition to theprogrammewe also offer all preceptees the opportunity of enrolling and completing the level 7 (Masters) 15 credit validated module Preceptorship for Healthcare (AP7026).

Newly qualified Social Workers are offered the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment programme (ASYE) which issimilar toa preceptorship programme.
