Job summary
Are you an inspirational leader ready to shape the future of inpatient therapy services? We are seeking an exceptional Head of Inpatient Therapy Services to lead, develop and transform our integrated inpatient therapy teams across two hospital sites. This is a pivotal strategic leadership role, providing professional, operational and transformational leadership to a large and diverse workforce of therapists, support staff and clinical leaders. You will drive service innovation, deliver high-quality patient-centred care, and ensure services are responsive to the changing needs of our patients, communities and healthcare system. You will lead the delivery of key operational and performance objectives, champion quality improvement, and build strong partnerships across multidisciplinary teams, divisions and system partners to improve patient flow, outcomes and experience

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for the management of approximately 128 wte staff, comprising registered physiotherapists, occupational therapists and related support staff.

The post holder will be responsible for the pay and non-pay budgets for Inpatient Therapy.

Person Specification
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
Essential
  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council
  • Demonstrates visionary thinking and originality in the application of knowledge. Proven track record of implementing change and service development
  • Proven experience of business, strategic and workforce planning incorporating finance and capital
  • Proven experience of working effectively in a multidisciplinary environment and with other organisations
  • Comprehension and analysis of national and local policies and targets
  • Degree/diploma in Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy
  • Multi-disciplinary and partnership working to develop integrated service delivery against pathways
  • Highly developed communication and motivation skills e.g. presentations/posters at Networks, Boards, ICB multi-professional groups
  • Continuing Professional Development (CPD), including evidence of reflective practice, evaluation and utilization of best practice
  • Proven, relevant clinical experience within the inpatient setting
  • Evidence of working towards or completion of relevant accredited post graduate training
