Based in Redditch and reporting to the Head of Therapy, this senior role carries responsibility for ensuring the safe, effective, and evidence-based delivery of structured treatment for individuals experiencing gambling-related harms and associated mental health difficulties.
The postholder will lead clinical practice, governance, workforce development, and service quality across multidisciplinary teams, working within services aligned to national gambling harms policy frameworks and the NHS Long Term Plan.
Main duties of the jobMain Duties- Clinical Leadership & Practice Providing specialist clinical expertise in assessing and treating gambling-related harms and co-occurring mental health conditions, leading on complex case formulation, overseeing evidence-based interventions (e.g. CBT), and maintaining oversight of safeguarding and risk management.
- Leadership & Service Management Offering clinical and operational leadership, line managing Gambling Therapists, supporting recruitment and workforce planning, and deputising for the Head of Therapy when needed.
- Clinical Governance & Quality Leading governance activities such as audits, peer review, and quality improvement, ensuring regulatory compliance, monitoring outcomes, and supporting inspections and commissioner reviews.
- Strategic & Partnership Working Aligning services with national frameworks, supporting integration with wider mental health services, and representing Gordon Moody in clinical networks and partnerships.
- Training & Workforce Development Providing clinical supervision, promoting trauma-informed practice, and supporting CPD and training initiatives across the workforce.

Based in Redditch with some opportunity to work from home and at our Wolverhampton site, and reporting to the Head of Therapy, you will lead multidisciplinary teams in the delivery of safe, effective and evidence-based treatment. You will help shape clinical practice, strengthen governance, develop the workforce and drive continuous improvement across our services.
The role would suit an experienced CBT therapist with established leadership or supervisory experience who is passionate about developing others and maintaining high clinical standards. It may be particularly suited to someone from an NHS Talking Therapies, or substance misuse service who is ready to progress into a broader clinical leadership position.

Working closely with the Head of Therapy, you will provide leadership across clinical practice, governance, workforce development and service quality. You will work across multidisciplinary teams and contribute to the continued development of Gordon Moodys treatment pathways.
Clinical leadership and practice- Provide expert clinical guidance in the assessment and treatment of gambling-related harms and co-occurring mental health conditions.
- Lead on complex case formulation and advise on high-risk, complex or multifactorial presentations.
- Oversee the delivery of evidence-based psychological interventions, including CBT and appropriate integrative approaches.
- Support consistent and effective safeguarding, suicide prevention, crisis escalation and clinical risk management.
- Promote continuity of care across residential, remote and external treatment pathways.
- Model high standards of ethical, compassionate and person-centred clinical practice.

Person specificationQualificationsEssential- Postgraduate qualification in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy or a recognised core mental health profession, such as mental health nursing, clinical psychology, counselling psychology or an equivalent discipline.
- Current accreditation with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP).
- Recognised clinical supervision qualification or accredited supervision training.
- Evidence of advanced and relevant continuing professional development.
Desirable- Additional qualification or accreditation in an NHS-recognised therapeutic modality, such as EMDR, PCE-CfD, CAT, DIT, IPT, DBT, MBCT or ACT.
Experience and knowledgeEssential- Significant post-qualification experience within mental health, addiction, NHS Talking Therapies, substance misuse or a related clinical service.
- Substantial experience of delivering CBT to people with complex mental health needs.
- Experience of assessing and managing complex and high-risk clinical presentations.
- Experience of safeguarding, suicide risk assessment and crisis management.
