Job summaryWe are now inviting applications for Modern Matron within Adult Forensic and Secure Service. This is maternity leave cover from October 2026 to July 2027. The post will be based at Tatchbury Mount, as the post will initially cover Ashford, including Forensic Community Teams (Forensic Community Learning Disabilities Team and Specialist Community Forensic Team), with a possibility of changing portfolio within the service in the future.
We would welcome applications from RMN leaders who would like to experience leading a varied service, while working closely with the multi-disciplinary teams across the unit. The person we are looking for is highly motivated and should possess excellent organization and team working skills, be patient focused and embracing of the Trust values.
This vacancy can be a secondment for internal Trust employees of a fixed term contract for external candidates.

Main duties of the jobYou will be responsible for the operational delivery, performance and quality of the portfolio of services and will embed new ways of working to ensure that the service can deliver the care our patients need.
You will have a key role in ensuring the delivery of safe and effective person-centred services which support the delivery of our key Divisional objectives and strategies. You will ensure evidence-based practices are developed and embedded, ensuring they are aligned to a strong clinical governance and assurance framework. Using innovation and creativity you will maximise resources to deliver financial efficiencies and effective service delivery.
The ability to support clinical delivery through appropriate change management methodologies will be required.

Person SpecificationQualificationsEssential- RMN/RNLD
- Sub part 1 of the NMC Register
- Qualified to degree level in nursing
- In-depth experience in a nursing leadership role Band 7 equivalent
- Mentorship course
- Clinical supervision training
