Specialist Community Public Health Nurse 5-19The closing date is 26 July 2026Job summaryThe New Forest & Romsey Public Health Nursing 5-19 Service (formerly School Nursing) based at Tatchbury Mount is looking for an enthusiastic and flexible Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN) who enjoys the challenge of working with Children and Young People. There is an opportunity for both Full-time and Part-time hours (30hpw) with this position and we would be happy to discuss at interview. You will work from a variety of settings including schools, partner agencies and homes working flexibly and creatively to best engage and meet the diverse health needs of the 5-19 population across the New Forest and Romsey area, supporting the wider Hampshire Public Health Nursing 5-19 service. You will lead the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme (DH 2009) within the locality and provide professional leadership to a skill mix team to enable the efficient and effective delivery of the commissioned service, improving outcomes for Children and Young People in Hampshire.
Main duties of the jobThe primary role of the Community Public Health Nurse 5-19 (SCPHN) is to lead delivery of the commissioned elements of the Healthy Child Programme (DH 2009) including the 0-19 (Health Visiting and School Nursing) High Impact Areas. The role includes providing clinical leadership and management support to Community Public Health Staff Nurse 5-19, Community Public Health Advisors and Community Public Health Assistants 5-19 to support the delivery of a quality 0-19 public health service in Hampshire.

Person SpecificationQualificationsEssential- Registered Nurse and/or Midwife
- BSc/PGDip/Hons Public Health Specialist Practitioner (School Nursing) or equivalent (NMC Registered Part 3)
