Description

Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join a newly established dietetic service supporting children and young people with eating disorders across Hampshire. As part of a growing team, you will help shape how dietetic care is delivered within an innovative service working across community, day service and inpatient settings.

You will work directly with young people and their families, providing specialist assessment and nutritional support for a range of eating disorders including Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, ARFID, Binge Eating Disorder and OSFED. The role offers the opportunity to work across the whole care pathway, supporting recovery while developing valuable specialist skills.

Working within a supportive multidisciplinary team, you will collaborate with psychology, psychiatry, nursing, family therapy and medical colleagues to deliver high quality, person centred care. You will contribute to nutritional rehabilitation, care planning, risk management and service development, with regular clinical and professional supervision to support your growth.

Whether you already have some experience in eating disorders or are looking to develop specialist expertise, this role offers structured support, training opportunities and the chance to make a real difference to the lives of young people and their families.

Main duties of the job
You will provide specialist dietetic assessment, formulation and intervention for children and young people with eating disorders, including Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, ARFID, Binge Eating Disorder and OSFED. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will assess and manage nutritional risk, support nutritional rehabilitation and promote recovery through evidence based, person centred care.

The postholder will work with young people, families and carers across community, day service and inpatient settings, developing individualised care plans and supporting positive behaviour change. Using clinical, biochemical and psychosocial information, you will contribute to assessment, treatment planning and risk management.

Working alongside colleagues from psychiatry, psychology, nursing, family therapy, paediatrics and partner agencies, you will contribute to multidisciplinary care planning and service development. The role also includes participation in audit, quality improvement projects and the development of patient resources.

You will deliver education and training to patients, families, students and colleagues, maintain accurate clinical records and work in line with professional standards, safeguarding procedures, MEED guidance and Trust policies. Regular clinical supervision, professional support and development opportunities will be provided to support your growth within this specialist area of practice.
