What you’ll do:
  • Dissect diagnostic A–E graded histopathology specimens across a wide range of tissue types, from benign to complex malignant cases, in line with SOPs based on RCPath guidelines
  • Support the retention of UKAS accreditation within the Histology dissection service, maintaining high standards of quality and compliance
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical or workflow issues within dissection, using your advanced expertise to maintain efficiency and accuracy
  • Plan, prioritise and manage workload effectively to meet turnaround times in a high throughput laboratory environment
  • Work in line with HCA policies and procedures, acting as a role model for best practice and professional standards

What you’ll bring:
  • Extensive experience in histopathology dissection, including independent handling of A–E graded specimens across a range of benign and malignant tissue types
  • Strong working knowledge of RCPath guidelines and UKAS standards, with a consistent, quality focused approach to SOPs
  • Proven ability to work autonomously at an advanced level, demonstrating confidence, accuracy and sound judgement in complex dissection
  • Experience working in a fast paced laboratory environment, with the ability to prioritise workload and meet demanding turnaround times
  • Excellent problem solving skills, with the confidence to troubleshoot and resolve dissection related issues
