Clinical Psychologist (Specialising in Neurodevelopmental Conditions)
Area: Paediatric Therapies & Psychology
Location: London – The Portland Hospital
Hours: Part Time, 15–18.75 hours per week
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: Competitive and dependent on experience

We're looking for a Clinical Psychologist specialising in Neurodevelopmental Conditions to join our Paediatric Therapies team at The Portland Hospital, the UK's leading private hospital dedicated to the healthcare of women, children and families.

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified and compassionate Child Clinical Psychologist with extensive experience of neurodevelopmental conditions and child and adolescent mental health. The successful candidate will have experience in neuropsychological assessment and working within an ASD assessment service, delivering high-quality care for children and their families across both inpatient and outpatient settings. You will also play a key role in supporting multidisciplinary working and contributing to the ongoing development of our specialist services.

As a Clinical Psychologist within our Paediatric Therapies team, you'll:
  • Conduct assessments and diagnostic testing to support children with neurodevelopmental conditions.
  • Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive diagnosis and care planning.
  • Develop individualised treatment plans tailored to each child and family's needs.
  • Provide education, guidance and emotional support to families receiving a new diagnosis.
  • Deliver teaching and training to colleagues and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Lead and contribute to service development initiatives.
  • Liaise with consultants, schools and external healthcare providers to promote integrated care and support pathways.
  • Maintain high standards of professional, ethical and legal practice at all times.

What you'll bring:
  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy) or Statement of Equivalence.
  • ADOS-2 and ADI-R/DISCO training and experience.
  • Extensive paediatric psychology experience.
  • Significant experience working with children with neurological conditions and/or within an ASD diagnostic service.
  • Strong understanding of neurodevelopmental conditions and child and adolescent mental health.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage children, families and professionals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Proven experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Knowledge of a range of therapeutic approaches and the ability to adapt interventions to individual needs.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and attendance at relevant training and team meetings.
  • Previous CAMHS experience would be advantageous.
