Based from Treehouse Family Hub in Harlow, you will play an important role in supporting children and young people aged 0-19 to achieve greater independence, develop functional skills and reach their full potential through evidence-based occupational therapy interventions. You will join our award-winning Essex Child and Family Wellbeing Service, where we are trailblazing a new integrated partnership model with Barnardo's. This innovative approach enables us to focus on what matters most, delivering high-quality support and improved outcomes for children, young people and their families across our communities. Main duties of the job
As a Children's Occupational Therapist, you will manage a varied caseload of children and young people with a range of developmental, physical, sensory and neurodevelopmental needs. You will deliver occupational therapy assessments, treatment programmes and reviews for children and young people aged 0-19 years. Responsibilities include developing, implementing and evaluating individualised treatment plans and SMART goals tailored to each child's needs, supporting children, families and carers to maximise independence, participation and functional outcomes, and providing advice, training and education to parents, carers, school staff and other professionals. You will also assess for, recommend and facilitate the provision of specialist equipment and work collaboratively within multidisciplinary and multi-agency teams to support holistic care planning and service delivery while maintaining accurate clinical records and participating in service development initiatives, audits and quality improvement activities.
