You will provide operational leadership for Radiology Services, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective and high-quality diagnostic services. Working closely with clinical and operational teams, you will drive service improvement, manage resources and budgets, support workforce development, and lead transformational change initiatives.

Main duties of the jobThe Speciality Manager is responsible for the operational, performance and business management of Radiology Services. The role will lead service improvement, business planning, financial management, workforce management and performance delivery across the service, working in partnership with Radiologists, Modality Leads and Governance Leads to ensure safe, effective and sustainable diagnostic services.
The post holder is not responsible for providing professional radiography leadership or maintaining clinical competence in imaging practice. Professional and clinical leadership responsibilities remain with designated clinical, modality and governance leads, with overall accountability residing within the Surgical Division management structure.

Job responsibilities- Lead the operational management of Radiology Services, ensuring the effective use of workforce, equipment, estate and other resources to meet service objectives.
- Monitor service performance against agreed operational, quality and financial targets.
- Develop and implement action plans to address performance challenges and improve service delivery.
- Ensure imaging services are responsive to patient demand and aligned with divisional and organisational priorities.
- Support the delivery of resilient services through effective business continuity and contingency planning
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to improve patient pathways and service efficiency
- Support the development and implementation of the strategic vision for Radiology Services.
- Lead and coordinate service redesign, transformation and improvement programmes.
- Analyse activity, demand, capacity and workforce data to inform service planning and future development.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, patient experience and value for money.
- Develop business cases and service development proposals to support investment, transformation and innovation.
- Manage and monitor delegated budgets in accordance with organisational policies and financial regulations.
- Support annual planning processes, including revenue and capital programme development.
- Lead the development of financial recovery, productivity and efficiency initiatives where required.
- Ensure procurement activities are undertaken in accordance with organisational procedures and deliver value for money.
- Support planning for equipment replacement and future service investment requirements.
Person SpecificationExperienceEssential- Experience of working at an operational level within a Health or Care setting in order to understand service demands.
- Experience in the planning, management and delivery of change and continuous improvement projects
QualificationsEssential- Degree level qualification in Health and Care related subject.
- Management qualification in order to evidence business acumen
