As part of our skilled, innovative and caring Pharmacy Team, you will support pharmacy services across community hospitals, mental health inpatient wards, community teams and specialist clinical services throughout Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

This developmental role offers the opportunity to gain recognised qualifications, complete workplace-based training and assessments, and develop your skills in a supportive NHS environment. We are looking for a team player with good communication skills and a commitment to improving patient care and service delivery.

This is a part time post working 22.5 hours per week. There are currently no weekend, bank holiday or late-night duties, although some Saturday morning working may be required in the future. Travel across Herefordshire and Worcestershire is essential. Main duties of the job
As a pharmacy assistant, you will be part of the team, working within stores (procurement) and the dispensary to deliver a comprehensive pharmacy and medicines management service to all sites within the Trust

You will regularly visit designated clinical areas to review stock holding and provide a stock 'top up' service; dispense medication and deal with routine enquiries.

You will be required to work independently and as part of a team and must be able to travel throughout the Trust.

Qualifications
Essential

• GCSE (or equivalent) grade 5 or above in Maths, Science and English Language (all 3 are required)

Desirable

• NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services (or equivalent)

Experience
Essential

• Previous experience of working in a hospital or community pharmacy
• Previous experience of stock control work
• Previous experience in a customer or patient care setting

Desirable

• NHS experience
• Experience working in a hospital pharmacy

Additional Criteria
Essential

• Willingness to undertake further training including accuracy checking for dispensing assistant's course when posts become available.
• Willingness to travel across Herefordshire and Worcestershire to provide our top up service
