Band 4 Senior Therapy Assistant - Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation
Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Band 4 Senior Therapy Assistant to join our team of Allied Health Professionals and support staff delivering high-quality rehabilitation services across a range of clinical specialties.
This post will primarily support the Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Service; however, the successful candidate may be required to work across other HUTH therapy services in line with service needs.
Our rehabilitation service operates across a wide geographical area, with bases and clinics in Hull, Beverley, Bridlington and Goole. As such, the ability and willingness to travel independently between sites is essential.
Do you have the enthusiasm, drive and flexibility to embrace change and take on new challenges? If so, this could be the opportunity you have been looking for.
This is an excellent development opportunity for someone with experience working as a Physiotherapy Assistant, Occupational Therapy Assistant or equivalent rehabilitation support role. Relevant experience is essential, and the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting patients through their rehabilitation journey while working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established team and contribute to the ongoing development of cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation services across the region.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will work within the Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Team, supporting the delivery of safe, effective and timely rehabilitation interventions for patients with a range of cardiac and respiratory conditions. The role will involve assisting with the assessment, treatment and ongoing management of patients participating in supervised exercise and education programs delivered across a variety of community venues throughout Hull, Beverley, Bridlington and Goole.
As a Senior Therapy Assistant, you will manage a delegated and supported caseload, delivering rehabilitation programs and monitoring patients' progress under the guidance of registered Physiotherapists and other members of the multidisciplinary team. You will also support the coordination of community-based exercise classes and contribute to the supervision, delegation and support of staff at a lower grade.
The role requires excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and flexibly across multiple community sites. Due to the geographical area covered by the service, the ability to travel between locations is essential and access to a vehicle is essential.
About us

Together we employ nearly 20,000 staff. Our five main hospital sites are Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital, Scunthorpe General Hospital and Goole and District Hospital, for NLAG and Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital for HUTH.
