Job summary
This is an opportunity to join our community mental health service and PCMHN delivering services across 2 bases within an inner city setting in Hull. This is a 1.0wte 8a psychology role working within a psychology team comprising Practitioner Psychologists, CAPs, MHWPs, MBT Practitioner and Assistant Psychology with the support of a Principal Clinical Psychologist embedded in the team.

The role will offer a supported clinical pathway within the PCMHNs but also into other services and the CMHTs if indicated.

We are looking for someone with prior experience of working within mental health community setting for adults with trauma, severe mental health difficulties and complex needs.

It will be a role that provides you with great deal of interest and variety in clinical input across PCMHN and CMHT as well as service and staff development, having the potential for significant impact in supporting patient recovery and staff psychological safety.

We are in the process of aligning our psychology delivery to a Neighbourhood Teams model and we want you to have a voice in supporting this and wider service developments in the delivery of psychological care across the division.

Main duties of the job

• Delivering systematic provision of highly specialist psychological assessments, joint assessments, formulation, care planning and individual group interventions by providing strong, effective professional direction, ensuring the delivery of evidence based psychological interventions and practice.
• Working autonomously and within a supportive team, you will provide clinical leadership and consultation with evidence based and bespoke psychological care to people assessing the service.
• To contribute to the planning and organisation of community psychological services.
• To provide clinical supervision and offer advice and consultation on psychological care and risk management to MDT colleagues.
• To provide clinical supervision to trainees, assistants, CAPs, MHWPs and clinical and professional supervision to qualified psychologists in the speciality.
• To engage in research, audit, service evaluations, service developments and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications
Essential

• Completed post-graduate doctoral level of training in clinical, forensic or counselling psychology as accredited by the BPS (or equivalent if qualified before 1996)
• Completed clinical supervision training for doctoral trainees
• To hold and maintain current professional registration in line with HCPC
• Full understanding/application of relevant clinical practice/standards/audit within identified clinical area

Desirable

• Broadly based knowledge of the theory and practice of advanced psychological therapies in specific difficult to treat groups (e.g. complex PTSD, personality disorder, dual diagnosis, people with disabilities etc)

Experience
Essential

• Demonstrable experience of working as a clinical, forensic or counselling psychologist, to include a significant period of working at a senior level in the specific field where the post is held
• Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) relevant to the clinical area.
• Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups , across the whole life course and presenting with the full range of clinical severity across the full range of care settings
• Experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for clients' psychological care and treatment, both as a professionally qualified care co-ordinator and also within the context of a multidisciplinary care plan.
• Experience of teaching, training and/or professional and clinical supervision

Desirable

• A breadth of clinical practice including clinically specialising in the field where the post is held
• Ability to work across team/organisational boundaries developing and maintaining multi-professional and multi-agency partnerships

Skills
Essential

• Ability to demonstrate ethical values and attitudes within a culture of equality and diversity

• Be able to demonstrate leadership/ management skills at an advanced level
