Join our friendly Breast Imaging team at Prince Philip Hospital, Llanelli, and play an important role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care within our recently modernised Breast Unit. Working alongside experienced Mammographers, Radiologists and Breast Care professionals, you'll undertake specialist mammography examinations and support diagnostic and interventional procedures using state-of-the-art Hologic mammography and biopsy equipment.

This role offers the opportunity to develop your specialist skills while benefiting from a Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm working pattern. We welcome part-time and job share applications, recognising the importance of flexibility and work-life balance.

Main duties of the job
To perform routine radiographic and more specialised mammography examinations on their own caseload of patients, assess the resulting images and recording the necessary information in PACS and Soliton.

The post holder will require the necessary CPD evidence, experience and training to undertake these duties.

To undertake diagnostic radiographic examinations.

To act as IR(ME)R practitioner and operator for radiological procedures within their scope of practice.

To operate a wide range of expensive, specialized imaging equipment safely and appropriately.

To ensure all relevant safety checks are made before proceeding with any examination.

To comply with IR(ME)R employer procedures, IR local rules and Health Board policies and procedures.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications and Knowledge
Essential

• BSc Radiography (or recognised equivalent)
• Post graduate certificate in Mammography
• HCPC registration
• Short specialist courses or experience to postgraduate diploma level
• Qualified to use different equipment and x-ray techniques

Desirable

• Understanding of specialist radiography procedures and PACS
• Post Graduate qualification

Experience
Essential

• Radiographer skills
• Substantial experience in performing mammography examinations
• Supervising and Training Radiographers

Desirable

• Previous NHS experience
• Experience of assisting with advanced mammographic procedures such as Vacuum Assisted Biopsies and Contrast Enhanced Mammography
• Evidence of role development

Language Skills

• Welsh Speaker (Level 1)
