Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 5 Physiotherapist to join our 6 monthly rotation scheme. Our band 5 rotation scheme includes rotations at the three main hospital sites, St Mary's Hospital, Charing Cross Hospital and Hammersmith Hospital across a wide variety of areas, including Stroke, Respiratory, Community, Medicine, Neurosurgery, Musculoskeletal, Paediatrics, Neuro Rehabilitation & Orthopaedics. Band 5's will be expected to complete rotations in the core areas of Physiotherapy; Medicine and Respiratory. Potential for substantive and fixed term contract opportunities available.

You would be joining a supportive, well established team committed to providing a high standard of clinical care. The department actively supports Continuing Professional Development and runs an established appraisal system and a comprehensive in-service training programme.

The successful applicants must have their degree qualification and should be HCPC registered or have submitted their registration forms already.

The physiotherapy department operates as a 7 day service and therefore this post will require working at weekends as part of contracted hours of work. This post will also support the current overnight on-call service (subject to competencies).

Main duties of the job

• To manage own caseload of patients as an autonomous practitioner with appropriate clinical supervision.
• To consolidate and develop clinical and non-clinical expertise.
• To be responsible for own CPD and own Professional and Personal Development.
• To work effectively within the team, department and organisation
• To contribute to service education, audit and research programmes.
• To participate in adult respiratory, orthopaedic and paediatric weekend working and on-call.

Qualifications
Essential

• Degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent.
• Health Professions Council registration.

Desirable

• CSP membership
• Maximum score on clinical placements
• Degree classification upper second class honours or above (or equivalent

Experience
Essential

• Knowledge of assessment and treatment methods, including psychosocial
• Wide range of experience in training /clinical placements
• Experience in use of risk assessment in a variety of areas
• Experience in a clinical setting of application of professional standards and codes of conduct
• Experience of using evidence based practice
• Liaison with professional colleagues, patient's relatives and carers in a variety of settings.
• Computer skills

Desirable

• Recent junior experience in a structured rotational scheme.
• Knowledge of clinical governance issues in relation to patient care
• Group teaching skills
