Description

Nurse – Lung Cancer Screening Programme
Hours: 36 hours per week | 8am–8pm | 3 shifts per week (weekend flexibility required)
Location: Harlow, Epping, Loughton, North East London, Saffron Walden
Salary: £38,000–£42,000 + £4,200 car allowance or company car

Make a Difference in Early Cancer Detection
Join our Lung Cancer Screening team and help deliver a high‑quality, life‑saving service across mobile locations. You’ll work as part of a 7‑day service, including bank holidays, and follow a standard 12‑hour shift pattern while supporting early diagnosis of lung cancer and other respiratory conditions.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Run virtual and face‑to‑face nurse‑led clinics, assessing patient risk and referring high‑risk individuals for Low‑Dose CT.
  • Deliver high‑quality respiratory assessments and offer smoking cessation support as part of the screening pathway.
  • Provide effective health promotion and tailored patient education.
  • Recognise and escalate safeguarding concerns, red‑flag symptoms, or emergencies.
  • Maintain required accreditations (IRMER on induction; ARTP for spirometry where needed).

What We’re Looking For
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Confident using a range of IT systems and software.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and further training.
  • Full, clean UK driving licence with willingness to work across mobile sites.

* This includes colleagues delivering face to face patient care in the Lung screening mobile units, Endoscopy, AAA Screening, Breast Screening, PET-CT, Audiology, Mobiles, Imaging Centres and CDC’s. Note that this payment is not applicable to clinical staff working within the Echocardiography division, or Diabetic Eye Screening. The Weekend Payment does not apply to those on a flexible working agreement and part time workers that have requested to work weekend hours/days as part of their working agreement. The Weekend Payment also doesn’t apply to those who are working remotely or carrying out administrative work from home.
