Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to join our
UK & Ireland Medical Affairs team, supporting our growing
Neuroscience portfolio.
The RoleAs a Medical Science Liaison, you will act as a trusted scientific partner to healthcare professionals and Thought Leaders (TLs), delivering high-quality medical engagement across your assigned territory, with a predominant focus on the London and Greater London region. Working closely with UK & Ireland and Global teams, you will contribute to medical strategy, support evidence generation, and ensure Ipsen’s scientific reputation for excellence, integrity, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Build and maintain peer-to-peer scientific relationships with Thought Leaders, HCPs, and medical experts
- Develop and execute territory-level stakeholder engagement plans aligned to therapy and business needs
- Deliver fair, balanced, and compliant scientific exchange on disease areas, approved products, and pipeline assets
- Capture, document, and communicate high-quality medical insights
- Deliver scientific and educational presentations (reactive and proactive)
- Support and organise advisory boards, investigator meetings, and scientific exchange forums
- Contribute to medical education initiatives, publications, posters, abstracts, and manuscripts
- Coordinate unsolicited Investigator-Sponsored Studies (ISS) from concept to publication
- Support company-sponsored studies, post-marketing research, registries, and real-world evidence projects
- Engage investigators and support site feasibility assessments and scientific discussions
- Contribute to the UK & Ireland Annual Medical Plan
- Provide scientific expertise to Commercial and Market Access colleagues while maintaining clear non-promotional boundaries
- Participate in Integrated Brand Teams and regional account planning
- Ensure compliance with Ipsen SOPs, pharmacovigilance requirements, and ABPI Code
- Timely reporting of adverse events and product quality complaints
- Accurate documentation of all activities in Ipsen systems
About YouEssential- Demonstrated experience as a Medical Science Liaison
- Strong scientific knowledge enabling credible, non-promotional engagement
- Experience within Medical Affairs, clinical research, or related scientific roles
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong understanding of pharma compliance and medical governance
- Degree in Life Sciences or a related discipline
- Fluent written and spoken English
Desirable- Experience within a pharmaceutical medical department
- Neuroscience therapeutic area experience
- Experience with clinical trial data interpretation and real-world evidence
- Advanced scientific or medical degree (MSc, PhD, PharmD, MD, MBA or equivalent)
- ABPI Code accreditation
