Job Description:
DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a Medical Affairs Tender Evidence Manager DS EMEA, located in Leeds, UK, Pomezia, Italy, and Hamburg, Germany.

In a highly tender-driven commercial EMEA region, the function of Manager Scientific Excellence is crucial to assure the delivery of timely, optimal, customized, and compliant tender clinical evidence packages fulfilling the individual tender request, and assure the highest number of quality points are awarded to the DePuy Synthes submissions. Therefore this role will manage the full tender clinical evidence process across the region and emphasize the scientific and clinical strengths of the company products.

Furthermore, this role is focused on providing medical and scientific information related to the safety and efficacy of the DePuy Synthes portfolio to healthcare professionals, and healthcare institutions.

The role reports to the Director, Medical Affairs, UK/Northern Europe and is part of the DePuy Synthes EMEA Medical Affairs team.

This role will manage amongst others EMEA Medical Affairs Specialist Scientific Excellence, and is accountable for conducting effective performance management.

This role will facilitate cross-functional collaboration with other functions, such as Medical, Clinical, HEMA & commercial on the commercialization efforts for pipeline and marketed products.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the tender clinical evidence process in EMEA;
  • Ensuring tender submissions receive the best possible clinical evidence package in a timely fashion.
  • Identifying and reviewing scientific literature to aid the products’ evidence packages.
  • Ensuring copy approval and copyright compliance.
  • Advice management on critical issues, provide insights on proactive tender shaping.
  • Highlight evidence gaps upstream to global Medical Affairs.
  • Maintain relationships with (global) departments for further streamlining of process.
  • Act as DePuy Synthes EMEA first point of contact for tender clinical evidence.
  • Facilitating close collaboration between Medical, Clinical, HEMA & commercial teams to drive success.
  • Assure awareness and tender readiness, coordinate training.
  • Support of medical-scientific projects for EMEA DePuy Synthes marketing teams around evidence based medicine (EBM) and evidence based selling (EBS).
  • Coordinating and responding to all medical and scientific inquiries from medical staff and patients;
  • Across the full product portfolio, in EMEA region.
  • Liasing with the appropriate (global) Subject Matter Experts
  • Document inquiries and responses accurately and completely in our global system according to the relevant SOPs and Work Instructions
  • Ensure critical issues are escalated appropriately
  • Maintain related EMEA SOPs and Work Instructions
  • Training and communication on the MedInfo processes in EMEA countries, to drive further adoption.
  • Responsible for managing operational aspects of the team (e.g., workflow, performance, and compliance), as well as ensuring achievement of team goals within established timelines and budgets.
  • Presents to, and partners with, Medical affairs leadership and business leaders and provides insights and successes (using reports, metrics, other).
  • Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level
  • Integrates Johnson & Johnson’s Credo and Leadership Imperatives into team goals and decision making.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Finished BSc or MSc degree in relevant area such as Biomedical science or related, resulting in knowledge and understanding of:
  • Human Physiology and Anatomy
  • High level of scientific understanding
  • Evidence based medicine, scientific and clinical research terminology
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of prior work experience in comparable role
  • Fluent in and strong communications skills across multiple media
  • Business proficiency in additional language(s) is a distinct advantage.
  • Demonstrable time management and organizational skills
  • Very independent with a proactive approach to finding solutions and problem solving
  • Proven experience in evidence evaluation and communication
  • IT-skills (MS office)
