Every moment counts. Every memory matters. Come and join our Nursing team as a Nurse and provide exceptional care and support to children with life limiting and life-threatening conditions.

Our service is rated ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission. Julia’s House supports more than 140 families across Dorset and Wiltshire, in the community, at our hospices and in our families’ own homes.

The successful candidate will have experience of working with children with complex needs. You will have the ability to work both in a team and independently and work using your own initiative as well as accessing and contributing to the skill base of the wider team.

Qualification requirements: Applicants for this role must have RSCN/RN (Child Branch) - Diploma or Degree, Registered Learning Disability Nurse, RGN or RN Adult and have post-qualification experience of working with sick children.

You will be based at our Devizes Hospice, and work in the Hospice and across Wiltshire in the homes of the children we look after.

You will work with a team of Carers, Nurses, Team Nurses, Senior Team Nurses, and Lead Nurses in a supportive environment. As a nurse you will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality clinical nursing care to meet the diverse individual needs of the children and young people. You will have experience in clinical nursing assessment, planning and delivering care which will be evidence based in conjunction with Julia’s House policies and procedures to deliver safe care to children and young people with complex needs that will often change.

If you are passionate about hands on holistic family centred care and are considering developing a career in a children’s Hospice, we will support you by offering opportunities to develop both clinically and professionally. You will have opportunities to broaden your skills with excellent training and development.

Flexibility is required to cover days, evenings, weekends, school holidays and occasional overnights. There are no set hours for contracted staff, our care is provided at the times requested by our families and is therefore variable. Rotas are prepared 6 weeks in advance.

A full driving licence and use of a car for business purposes are essential; and all positions are subject to a satisfactory Enhanced DBS check.

Members of the NHS Pension Scheme may retain membership on joining Julia's House.
