Theatre Practitioner – Recovery
Contract: Bank
Salary: £26.00 per hour plus holiday pay
Hours: Monday and Saturday 07:30 – 18:00.
Location: KIMS Hospital, Maidstone

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and compassionate registered practitioner to join our Theatres team as a Theatre Practitioner. This role is ideally suited to a registered practitioner (Nurse or ODP) with demonstratable experience working in recovery and / or scrub, who is looking to progress their perioperative career in a clinical environment that will support your ongoing professional development to help you operate at your fullest potential.

As a Theatre Practitioner you will be a key member of our multi-disciplinary Theatres team, work primary flexibly across recovery and scrub, as part of a team to ensure a high standard of clinical care and safety for patients within the theatre unit.

Role Responsibilities include:

• Work primarily as an recovery and scrub practitioner,
• Assess patient care requirements independently and act as a resource for other staff. Implement patient care and evaluate outcomes.
• Communicate effectively with other departments e.g. Sterile Services, Wards, Imaging Department to ensure effective and smooth-running patient care.
• Ensure that patients’ comfort, dignity and privacy are maintained at all times.
• Ensure that your own practice and the practice of others is within an ethical and legal framework.

Person Specification:

• Be a registered Practitioner (RN or ODP)
• Have post-registration clinical experience as a recovery and / or scrub theatre practitioner in an acute hospital (NHS or independent).
• Have knowledge of clinical governance and its application.
• Have practical experience of change management.
• Have evidence of continuous professional development and its application.
