Ramsey Unit provides care for individuals experiencing acute mental health difficulties. As part of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, person-centred care, supporting service users through some of the most challenging periods of their recovery journey.

As a Registered Mental Health Nurse, you will work within a multidisciplinary team to provide safe, effective and compassionate care for service users experiencing acute mental health needs.

Main duties of the jobIf you are a student nurse due to qualify or a newly registered nurse, you will be supported through our comprehensive Preceptorship Programme, providing protected learning opportunities, regular supervision and dedicated support from an experienced Band 6 Nurse Specialist as you transition into registered practice. Experienced nurses will benefit from ongoing professional development opportunities, leadership support and access to a wide range of career progression pathways.
As a Staff Nurse, you will be encouraged to take ownership of your professional development and will receive regular clinical supervision, mentorship and support to help you build your confidence, develop your skills and achieve your career aspirations.
We actively invest in our workforce and encourage lifelong learning, helping colleagues develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to provide outstanding care and make a meaningful difference to the lives of the people we support.
Depending on your experience, you will either undertake a structured period of preceptorship or receive ongoing professional and leadership development support. All nurses receive regular supervision and support from experienced colleagues, promoting continuous learning and professional growth.

Person SpecificationEducationEssential- Registered Mental Health Nurse Qualification. (RNMH & RNLD)
- On-going registration with the NMC.
- Evidence of Continued Professional Development that supports clinical practice.
KnowledgeEssential- Can demonstrate an understanding and knowledge base of mental health conditions and their treatments.
- Can demonstrate a working knowledge of physical health conditions and the complications that this can cause to patients experiencing mental ill health.
