Main duties of the job
By joining Lancashire Teaching Hospitals, you'll become part of a dedicated team covering Anaesthetics & Recovery andthe opportunity to rotate through all specialities

We're looking for Anaesthetic & Recovery Practitioners who are passionate about delivering high-quality, patient-centred surgical care, adaptable to a fast-paced environment, and excited to embrace new challenges.

As a valued team member,you'llalso play a crucial role in supporting and mentoring future healthcare professionals, helping shape the next generation of theatre experts.

To support the Team Leaders in the day to day efficient running of the clinical area by providing excellent peri-op care to Patients by maintaining standards of care and professional practice.

Be responsible for assisting in the planning, delivery and evaluation of care to meet the personalised Health and wellbeing needs of patients in line with the Trust Values / HCPC and NMC professional frameworks.

Ensure the productive operation of the clinical area by ensuring that a well organised and safeenvironment is maintained.

Act as a strong role model and encourage and support the professional development of self and others. Provide clinical supervision and direction for all colleagues and students to support them in reaching their full potential.

Job responsibilities
Youll bring your Anaestheitc & Recovery experience and a genuine enthusiasm for innovation, championing new ideas and positive change within the team.

Excellent communication skills are essential and if you thrive in a fast-paced, supportive environment, youll fit right in. Plus, well back your growth with plenty of educational and experiential learning opportunities.

You must be a registered General Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) with scrub experience in Orthopaedic surgery ready to work with a motivated, enthusiastic team

Person Specification
Knowledge & Experience
Essential
  • Experience within the anaesthetic practitioner role
  • Willingness to expand clinical role
  • Awareness of current issues in practice
  • Knowledge of policies and procedures relevant to practice

Desirable
  • Knowledge of Harris Flex and evolve
  • Knowledge of ethical issues

Qualifications & Education
Essential
  • Registered nurse / ODP with current NMC/ HCPC registration
  • Post registration Anaesthetic course if not an ODP
  • Basic IT skills
  • Evidence of CPD (experienced band 5 's)

Desirable
  • NMC Recognised mentorship qualification
  • IV drug administration
  • Venepuncture and cannulation
  • Transfer course
  • Degree
