Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to work within our Elective surgical Hub at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals. This is a band 5 12 month fixed term position to cover a secondment opportunity.

Main duties of the job
We are looking for a scrub practitioner who has a passion for providing high quality patient focused surgical care who has a flexible attitude towards work and a desire for new challenges. As a trust we are committed to the development of future healthcare professionals and theatres is pivotal to these trainees. As a qualified practitioner you would be expected to contribute to their development and support.

Qualifications & Education
Essential
  • Appropriate NMC/HCPC Registration
  • RN1, RN2 General Nursing Posts/ODP
  • Evidence of continuing education or development for more experienced Band 5 nurses

Desirable
  • Degree
  • NMC recognised Mentorship qualification
  • Scrub Course
  • Diploma in Nursing

Knowledge & Experience
Essential
  • Awareness of changes within Nursing practice
  • Knowledge of Clinical Governance and the relevance to practice
  • Knowledge of relevant policies and procedures
  • Demonstrates competency during internship

Desirable
  • Knowledge of ethical issues
  • Evidence of clinical competence in areas of general surgery.
  • Knowledge of Leadership and Management
  • Research and Development
