Job summaryThe Salaried GP Partner will act as a senior clinical leader within the practice, combining high-quality patient care with strategic leadership responsibilities. The post holder will play a central role in the delivery of APMS services, achievement of contractual and quality targets, and the ongoing development of innovative, digitally enabled primary care services.
Main duties of the jobThis role blends clinical delivery, leadership, service development, and digital transformation, supporting the practice in delivering safe, effective, and patient-centred care to a diverse population. The post holder will need to work closely with the practice manager and together will form the front-line leadership and management for the practice.

Job responsibilitiesApprox Hours Split:- 50% Time Patient Facing
- 50% Time Practice Development
Role Responsibilities:Clinical Responsibilities- Deliver a full range of primary care services in line with APMS contract requirements
- Manage patients with undifferentiated and complex conditions
- Provide continuity of care and holistic patient management
- Undertake routine and urgent consultations (face-to-face, telephone, and digital)
- Develop and implement evidence-based care plans
- Prescribe safely in line with local and national guidance
- Maintain accurate, contemporaneous clinical records
- Support management of long-term conditions and population health
- Contribute to clinical audits, QOF, and enhanced services delivery
- Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team
2. Leadership & Partner-Level Responsibilities- Act as a senior clinical leader within the practice
- Support strategic planning and service development
- Contribute to decision-making on workforce, service delivery, and operational priorities
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability
- Provide clinical leadership across the MDT, including supervision and mentoring
- Support recruitment, retention, and development of clinical staff
- Lead on specific portfolios (e.g. digital, quality, long-term conditions)
3. Digital & Service Transformation- Lead or support digital transformation across the practice, including:
- Online consultation systems
- Digital triage and access models
- Remote monitoring and patient communication tools
- Ensure safe and effective use of digital systems in line with NHS standards
- Promote improvements in:
- Patient access
- Workflow efficiency
- Clinical safety and outcomes
- Support data-driven decision-making using population health insights
- Contribute to innovation and redesign of care pathways
4. Quality, Governance & Performance- Lead and support delivery of:
- Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF)
- Enhanced Services
- ICB and PCN performance targets
- Participate in clinical governance, audits, and quality improvement initiatives
- Support investigation of complaints, incidents, and significant events
- Ensure compliance with:
- CQC standards
- GMC guidance
- Local and national policies
5. Stakeholder Engagement- Act as a key clinical representative at:
- Primary Care Network (PCN) level
- At borough level with any emerging federations
- Integrated Care Board (ICB) level with the commissioners or the NWL wide GP Federation
- West London Mental Health Foundation Trust
- Work collaboratively with partner organisations, including:
- Acute trusts
- Mental health services
- Community providers
- Support partnership working to improve patient outcomes and service integration
6. Risk Management & Patient Safety- Identify and manage clinical and operational risks
- Support a culture of safety and learning
- Ensure appropriate escalation and documentation of risks
- Contribute to resilience planning and service continuity
7. Professional Development- Maintain up-to-date clinical knowledge and skills
- Participate in CPD, appraisal, and revalidation
- Engage in teaching, mentoring, or training where appropriate
Person SpecificationExperienceEssential- Minimum 5 years experience as a GP
- Experience working in primary care with complex patient populations
- Experience delivering QOF and contractual targets
- Experience in clinical audit and quality improvement
Desirable- Experience in leadership or partner-level responsibilities
- Experience in digital health or service transformation
- Experience working across organisations (PCN/ICB level)
- Involvement in change management or service redesign
