Job SummaryThe Crisis Resolution Intensive Support Service (CRISS) is a dynamic and flexible service which offers crisis assessments and home-based treatment over a 24hr period, 365 days a year for working age adults across the city. The service went through a change in 2024 to bring together crisis assessment and home based treatment in locality bases across the city in line with core fidelity standards.
We're therefore looking for skilled senior practitioners who can help shape the service going forward and currently are wanting to recruit to one permanent and one temporary band 6 position. The temporary position can be offered as a 12 month contract, or as a secondment for internal applicants. Vacancies are within the West team based at St Mary's Hospital in Armley.
Successful applicants will work across the service undertaking shift coordinator responsibilities, crisis assessments and home-based treatment interventions. We welcome applications from Occupational Therapists, Social Workers or Mental Health Nurses to join our multidisciplinary team. You will operate within a community setting and will be required to work within an MDT which aims to reduce admissions to hospital and facilitate early discharge through home-based treatment interventions. You will also work closely with inpatient and community services, providing an excellent alternative to inpatient admission and supporting in transition points for services users to community services.

Job responsibilities- To work closely with the Clinical Team Manager (CTM) in overseeing efficiency and effectiveness of treatment given and support the CTM in carrying out his/her duties.
- To present as a positive and professional role model to all staff within the team, striving to maintain a philosophy of service user involvement in continuously improving the service
- To work as an integrated member of the clinical team, participating in all aspects of day to day service provision.
- Band 6 practitioners work with a shared caseload of service users and as part of a multi-disciplinary team, providing same day/urgent assessment, care planning and care delivery. This will include the provision of highly skilled nursing/AHP care, psychological interventions, clinical assessment, risk assessments / risk management, and promoting recovery and inclusion.
- Band 6 practitioners also provide leadership, management, and supervision / appraisal for junior staff (and sometimes other members of a multi-disciplinary team) and often lead / coordinate / supervise teams of staff in the delivery and evaluation of care.
- In some roles specialist skills and knowledge may be required. Band 6 practitioners will often have designated areas of practice to lead within the team.
- Band 6 practitioners will be required to regularly take charge of a team and to delegate and supervise the work of other staff.
- Practitioners are expected to consistently demonstrate the Six Cs namely care, compassion, competence, communication, courage and commitment.

Person SpecificationQualifications- Registered Mental Health Nurse, Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse, Allied Health Professional or Social Worker.
Experience- Post Registration experience of working with adults of all ages with acute mental health problems.
- Can demonstrate experience of formulating crisis plans/care plans for people in an acute mental health crisis.
Skills- Assessment and problems solving skills particularly in the area of crisis assessment and treatment.
- Ability to consult, liaise and negotiate with service users, carers/family members, other professionals and the wider community.
- Is able to drive and has access to a car
- Can undertake 24/7 shift pattern
