Job summary
To support the delivery of smokefree interventions across all Trust sites.

The Smokefree advisor will work closely with the Senior Smokefree Advisor and other members of team to contribute to the work of the healthy living service in particular the Smokefree Agenda for the Trust and the support for service users requiring smoking cessation.

Please note, this post involves travel to all inpatient sites including Newsam Centre (LS14 6UH), The Mount (LS2 9LN), Asket House & Asket Croft (LS14 1PP), Clifton House (York) (YO30 5RA) and Red Kite View (LS12 3QE).

Main duties of the job
Support the delivery of safe and effective evidence based smokefree and healthy living interventions across the trust including supporting teams to adhere to the local working procedures and policies.

Manage a smokefree caseload and referrals to meet the needs of the diverse range of service users across the trust.

Provide a high standard of care that treats all service users with compassion, dignity and respect during all clinical interactions and support the healthy living advisors to uphold the same.

Plan and deliver smokefree interventions on both 1:1 and group basis.

Act as an advisor to colleagues on matters relating to smokefree and healthy living.

To provide personalised smokefree and healthy living plans and interventions for individuals with complex physical health and mental health needs.

Communicate effectively the smokefree and healthy living messages to a range of service users and staff through an appropriate methods at various levels and styles.

Contribute to the development and implementation of smokefree service/healthy living and physical health agenda. Working in partnership with services in the trust, local communities and organisations and wider network.

Provide interventions to service users in relation to smokefree and healthy living.
