Job summary
This is a 3PA Locum appointment for a Chief Clinical Information Officer (CCIO) in Digital & IT. The focus of the post is to lead clinical, academic and commercial partnerships based on research, focussed on real world health data.

Experience with large clinical data sets for example those of cancer patients is desirable.

This post will be available from August 2026 for a period of 12 months.

The post will be based at St Jamess and reports directly to our CDIO.

We're looking for an outstanding senior leader to support the creation of a digital healthcare future in Leeds and beyond.

This is a rare opportunity for a strategic thinker to make a real difference at one of the countrys largest and busiest NHS Trusts.

The Locum Chief Clinical Information Officer role will be a max of 3 PAs job plan.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant should be on the Specialist Register or within six months of being admitted to the Register for trainees if currently in a training programme within the UK.

Applicants should have established experience in clinical, academic and commercial partnerships based on research, focussed on real world health data.

Experience with large clinical data sets for example those of cancer patients is desirable.

Excellent communication and team working skills, a strong commitment to teaching and service development are essential.

What you will bring to the role
  • Experience: Proven ability to lead clinical, academic and commercial partnerships based on research focussed on real world health data.
  • Experience: Proven ability to engage effectively with a broad range of stakeholders within and outside the organisation and in a multi-professional environment
  • Qualifications: On the Specialist Register
  • Registration: Registered with relevant professional body for clinical specialty e.g. Royal College of Physicians
  • Skills & Knowledge: Ability to provide a strategic overview of the development of informatics systems to support high quality care and organisational effectiveness.
  • Personal Qualities: A strong clinical leader able to listen, respond and influence senior clinical staff. Ability to present and operate at Board level. Passionate about informatics as a tool to drive quality of clinical care and support professional practice
